Edward E. “Whitey” Kengersky, 82, of Falls Creek died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born June 13, 1931 in Helvetia, he was the son of the late Edward and Ann (Kubitz)Kengersky.
In January of 1983, he married Margaret R. (Jones) Kengersky. She survives.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean War. He retired from the DuBois Area School District after working in both the maintenance department and food services for more than 25 years.
He was a member of St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church in Falls Creek, where he was very active with the spaghetti dinners. He was a member of the Swedish American Club and the Falls Creek Eagles Aerie No. 965. He enjoyed golfing at the Scottish Heights Golf Course.
He is survived by five children, Edward Kengersky and his wife, Judy, Randy Kengersky and Robin Ankeny, all of Falls Creek; Brenda Cessna and her husband, Craig of Penfield; and Toni Clark and her husband, Greg of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Fr. Matis Quinmo officiating.
