CLEARFIELD – Seventeen students of the Clearfield Area High School German program were inducted into Delta Epsilon Phi, the National German Honor Society, on Monday.
Requirements for membership include having an “A” average after at least three semesters of German and at least an 85 percent cumulative average in all subjects. Students must also have a clean record of conduct.
Mrs. Barbara Simpson is the German teacher at the CAHS and the advisor of Delta Epsilon Phi. Superintendent Terry Struble presented new members with their membership certificates.
There are now 41 active members in the honor society.

Also, sophomore student Victoria Ireland was presented with the Award of Excellence by Struble, for having the highest average in German of all new inductees.
Simpson organized the ceremony, which took place in the CHS library.
