RIDGWAY – The Elk County Democratic Committee will host a petition-signing breakfast on Feb. 22 at the Royal Inn, Bootjack Road, in Ridgway.
Several candidates for the Democratic nominations for Pennsylvania Governor and Lieutenant Governor, as well as for U.S. House, U.S. Senate and Pennsylvania House will be in attendance to meet and address the guests. Candidates will also have nomination petitions available for registered voters to sign.
The breakfast is the second of five petition-signing events scheduled for the weekend of February 21-22 throughout northwest Pennsylvania.  This weekend starts off Friday evening with a social at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Dubois, hosted by the Dubois Democrats and the Clearfield County Democratic Committee.
Other events staggered throughout the day Saturday include a luncheon at Plyer’s Buffet & Restaurant in Brookville, sponsored by the Jefferson County Democratic Committee, a Wine & Cheese Party in Franklin and an evening social in Erie.
The events are bringing several of the top names in the races for Governor and Lieutenant Governor to the region, as they vie for voters’ support in the May 2014 primaries. With a large field of candidates declared for both races, these events give the voters a chance to talk to several of them personally.
