Romaine H. Ellenberger, 82, of DuBois died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014 at Christ the King Manor.
Born Aug. 6, 1931 in St. Marys, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Jerome and Thelma (Stewart) Straessley.
On July 12, 1954 in Philadelphia, she married Harry S. Ellenberger. He preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 2007.
She worked for Goodwill Industries for 23 years. Prior to that, she worked for the Courier-Express and the Montgomery Ward Department Store.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in DuBois. She loved her family and especially enjoyed visiting the porch people.
She’s survived by two daughters, Kim Lee and Kristie Ellenberger, both of DuBois; three grandchildren, Brittany Larson, Brianna Gardner and Shalane Read; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Roseann Uhl.
There will be no public visitation.
A private service will be held from the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home with Pastor Lance Tucker officiating.
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
