CLEARFIELD – At this week’s meeting, the Lawrence Township Supervisors scheduled the first public meeting for residents affected by the Phase III sewage project. The public meeting will be held at 6:30 pm. Feb. 20 at the Hyde Fire Hall.
Residents included in the project will be receiving letters regarding the public meeting from the township’s engineering firm Stiffler McGraw & Associates Inc. Letters will include information about permanent and lateral easements. Easements will be available for signatures at the public meeting.
Residents will also receive letters from the township regarding scheduling of individual house sewage inspections. The supervisors had approved to contract Pennsafe Building Inspection Services LLC of DuBois, at the supervisor’s Nov. 19, 2013 meeting.
The inspector will conduct sewage service inspections for residential units of Hyde area that are currently on the public sewerage service. The inspections will detect if storm water from residential units is being introduced into the public sewerage collection lines.
Letters regarding the inspections will have information for scheduling the inspections, as well as information about the public meeting.
The supervisors stressed that it is important for residents to attend the public meeting with any questions they may have regarding the Phase III and TV Lateral replacement projects and the house inspections.
The township has advertised for bids for TV Lateral and Phase III construction. Bids will be opened at the next township meeting on Feb. 18.
