John H. Hess, 81, Treasure Lake, DuBois, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 6, 1932 in Warren, he was the son of the late Howard and Mary (Smith) Hess.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War.
He was an over-the-road truck driver for many years working at Shaw Trucking. He finished his career at Brocious Trucking.
He was a member of the George D. Montgomery Post No. 17 American Legion. He was an avid fifth generation stamp collector and enjoyed building models.
He is survived by four children, Donald H. Hess and his wife, Christine and Jim Hess and his wife, Tricia and Sherry Hess, all of DuBois, and  Deborah K. Muth and her husband, Robert of Rockton.
He is also survived by three step-children, Char Craven and her husband, Steve of Wheelwright, Mass., Gerald Swaggert of Home and Jan Armanini and her husband, Jimmy of Hollywood; a sister, Martha Dennison of DuBois; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. Friday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home with Pastor Butch Brunner officiating.
