GROVE CITY – The Curwensville Golden Tide wrestling team competed in the Fred Bell Tourney in Grove City, Friday and Saturday.
Out of the 28 teams entered the Tide came in 21st as Stroudsburg (235 points) won the team title with Redbank Valley (203 ½) finishing in second.
The Tide had two wrestlers advance to the quarterfinals, Tyler Mays at 132 and Jake Lancaster at 138.
Mays lost a decision to Anthony Latss of Seneca Valley while Lancaster was pinned by Kyle Pecht of St. Marys.
On the weekend Mays and Ben Junod at 182 went 3-2;Â Lancaster (Jake), Hunter Lancaster at 160 and Seth Connors at 285 all went 2-2.
Jake C. Stiles at 170, Logan Charles wrestling at 126 and Jordan Peters competing at 145 all finished with 1-2 records on the weekend.
The Golden Tide (0-10) return to dual meet action on Tuesday night, traveling to Clarion to wrestle the Bobcats.
