George F. Hunt, 79, of Mineral Springs died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 at his home.
He was the husband of 60 years to Audrey J. (Jordan) Hunt of Mineral Springs, whom he married Aug. 29, 1953.
Born Jan. 15, 1935 in Winterburn, he was the son of the late Spencer and Thelma (Greene) Hunt.
Mr. Hunt was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God, Church of Clearfield. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator until retiring from Al Hamilton Contracting.
He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Club of Philipsburg. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting and camping.
In addition to his wife, surviving are five daughters, Dixie D. Grumblatt, Deanna L. Hunt and Daphne A. Hunt and fiancé, Thomas E Martin, all of Clearfield, Denise R. Williams and her husband, Anthony L. of Wallaceton; and Dana G. Litz and her companion, Brian Stucke of Mineral Springs; a daughter-in-law, Laurie Hunt of Clearfield; four sons, Donald S. Hunt and his wife, Marsha L. of Shiloh, Douglas L. Hunt of Woodland; David L. Hunt and his wife, Bethany L. of Clearfield and Dan G. Hunt of Mineral Springs; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Albert Hunt and his wife, Carolyn of Woodland and Delbert Hunt and his wife, Dorothy of DuBois.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Verda Hunt.
A service to celebrate the life of George F. Hunt will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., 312 E. Locust St., Clearfield, with the Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating.
A time to share memories and have an opportunity to view will be held from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
