ST. MARY’S — After a tough loss earlier in the week against the P-O Lady Mounties, the Clearfield Lady Bison (2-11) had little time to get prepared for their next road contest as they would travel Friday night to face the Lady Dutch of St. Mary’s (6-8).
After struggling in the first quarter, head coach Joey Castagnolo’s group came back in the second quarter to put on their best quarter of play to date.
Unfortunately, the 16-point performance in the quarter would be the only time Clearfield would outscore the homestanding team on this night. Â St. Mary’s was held to only five points in that quarter, but after the halftime break would almost double-up the point total Clearfield had in the second and third quarter.
At the final buzzer, the Lady Dutch would win a hard-fought 36-32 contest.
Kaitlyn Barackman would lead all scoring as she would bucket 14 points for St. Mary’s.
Clearfield is on the road two out of three contests next week with games at Central Tuesday, home against Central Mountain on Thursday, and at Huntingdon on Friday.
