CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced the capture of a wanted fugitive. Shaw identified the fugitive as Justin Ronald Fox, 22, of Greenwood Road, Rockton.
On Aug. 26, 2013, Officer Lance Thompson of the Clearfield Borough Police Department filed a criminal complaint against Fox. He charged Fox with driving under the influence of alcohol and flashing signals.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on July 28, 2013, police observed a vehicle traveling through a flashing red light at the intersection of Nichols and West Front streets in Clearfield. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, Thompson detected signs of impairment and observed several full and empty containers of alcohol inside the vehicle.
Thompson then requested that Fox perform field sobriety tests. After administering the field sobriety tests, Fox was taken into custody and transported to the Clearfield Hospital for blood testing.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 9, 2013, at which time all charges were held for court. On Nov. 6, 2013, Fox failed to appear for arraignment court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Shaw stated that on Monday, Fox voluntarily surrendered himself to deputies from the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office. Shaw thanked the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office for its assistance with this case
