Grace Ada Verrelli, 88, of Curwensville died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 at the Dubois Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Born Sept. 9, 1925 in Brighton, Iowa, she was the daughter of Peter Nicholas and Mary Alice (Messer) Rich. She was retired from the former Kent’s Sportswear in Curwensville as a steam presser after 16 years of service.
She was United Methodist by faith. She loved her family dearly and dedicated her life to them.
On Feb. 16, 1945 in Fairfield, Iowa, she wed Angelo Anthony Verrelli, who preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Patrick; her twin sister, Goldie Alice Rich; her sisters, Marjorie Rich, Blanche Richards, Gladys Ferrier and Edith Duran; and her brothers Rex, Hubert, Pete and Donald Rich.
Surviving are three children, Gary Verrelli and his wife, Sandy of Grampian, Terry Verrelli and his wife, Carnie of New Wilmington and Karen Howard and her husband, Dr. James of Curwensville. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Cecil Porter of Salvis, IL and Jessie Miller of Washington, Iowa.
At the request of Mrs. Verrelli, there will be no public visitation and graveside memorial services will be held in the Chapel of Oak Hill Cemetery at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Father Mark J. Mastrian officiating assisted by Deacon Tony Indelicato. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
