SNYDER TOWNSHIP – A 33-year-old Brockport man, Joshua L. Smith, was killed after a single-vehicle accident Thursday on Scottish Heights Drive in Snyder Township, reported the state police at DuBois.
Smith was traveling southbound when his vehicle traveled down a hill until sliding 180 degrees. After that his vehicle was facing northbound and traveling toward a bridge, state police said.
His vehicle struck the guiderail along the bridge and traveled through the end of it. It continued traveling westbound and down an embankment, where it overturned onto its roof and partially submerged in Rattlesnake Creek, state police said.
Smith was pronounced dead at the scene by Jefferson County Coroner Bernard Snyder. State police were assisted by the Brockway Fire/Emergency Medical Services/Fire Police and towing services.
