CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Borough Police Department, with assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police, will perform special school zone traffic details, starting this week and continuing through the end of the school year.
Pennsylvania law states that the speed limit in established school zones is 15 miles per hour. The reduced speed limit is enforceable during the times listed on official traffic-control signs or when a flashing sign is activated. The 15-mile-per-hour speed limit is in effect until a motorist reaches the “End School Zone” sign.
School zones slow traffic at schools to increase the safety of students as they arrive at and leave school.
