HARRISBURG (AP) — The federal government’s beleaguered health insurance Web site is working better than it was for Pennsylvanians, but it’s far from flawless.
People who are trying to help Pennsylvanians use it to obtain health coverage say the Web site, Healthcare.gov, stalled after showing improvements Monday. Roberta Vann, a certified application counselor at the Hamilton Health Center in Harrisburg, says the system was working smoothly before it stalled.
In McKees Rocks, just outside Pittsburgh, certified application counselor David Bytnar says he helped a man create an account on Healthcare.gov, but was unable to create one for the man’s wife. The Healthcare.gov Web site is a gateway to the health care law’s insurance marketplace.
Pennsylvania’s relying on the federally run marketplace because Gov. Tom Corbett declined the task. States have had better luck running their own.
