Blanche Alvera Maines, 87, of Clearfield died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013 at the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
She was born Aug. 11, 1926, a daughter of the late Frank and Inez (Battisti) Stella.
Ms. Maines was most recently employed at Mercy Mission. Prior to that, she worked at Kent Sportswear, DuMont Airplane and Marine and at Trichon Manufacturing. Ms. Maines was very proud to earn her high school diploma in 1998.
She was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.
Ms. Maines is survived by her daughter, Brenda Wilt and her husband, Robert of Lumber City; two grandchildren, Brad Wilt and his wife, Amanda and Kristy Richards and her fiancé, Robert Frailey; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Flora Kukla of Indiana.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Fanny Eckel and Jennie Lombardozzi and two brothers, James and Albert Stella.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, with Father Brandon Kleckner as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield.
A Christian Vigil service will be held at 4:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, 113 N. Third St., Clearfield.
