Charles L. “Buster” Dixon Jr., 64, of Darlington died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born Sept. 22, 1949 in DuBois, he was the son of the late Charles L. “C.L.” Dixon Sr. and Helen Laukitis Dixon.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the Vietnam War.
On Feb. 28, 1981, he married Diane (Hilliard) Dixon. She survives.
He retired as an aircraft mechanic from U.S. Airways after 25 years of service.
He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and fishing.
He is survived by his sister, Marian “Toots” Kalp and her husband, Ross and his brother, Joseph Dixon, both of Sabula.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A military ritual service will be held on at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Kresinski as celebrant.
Full military honors will be accorded from the church by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
Burial will be in Beechwoods Cemetery.
