Spikes, Gaffney featured by Sports Illustrated

The State College Spikes are featured in the latest installment of Sports Illustrated’s “Rising Stars” series, which highlights 2012 Spikes’ all-star outfielder and current Stanford running back Tyler Gaffney. The video feature, which can be viewed at SI.com/RisingStars, covers the two-sport talents of Gaffney, who put his college football and academic career on hold during the summer of 2012 to sign a professional baseball contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates and play for the Spikes.
