Buck’s Pizza employees reported Wednesday that someone had smashed out a window in the office area of the building before entering and taking several six packs of beer, an empty cash drawer and $300 in rolled coins. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
A 28-year-old New Castle woman reported Wednesday that she’d lost her wallet while shopping at the Ross store. The wallet was later found in the store and returned. Nothing was missing from it.
On Wednesday a Sher De Lin Road resident reported a deer was struck in front of his residence. The driver left the scene.
On Wednesday a 50-year-old West Decatur man reported that someone took his laptop out of his vehicle that was parked behind Dutch Pantry.
An employee of Hampton Inn reported Thursday that an unknown woman came into the hotel. She was rambling about someone stealing her birth certificate and using her phone and needing to speak to the FBI. The woman was gone upon police arrival.
A Forest Avenue resident reported Thursday that a suspicious male was walking very slowly down the street and stopping and looking between residences. The man was gone upon police arrival.
Employees of Fayette Resources requested assistance from police when a client became physically combative on Thursday. Police assisted without incident and transported the man to the DuBois Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
On Thursday K-Mart employees reported a DuBois woman returned a TV that she said she had received as a gift and didn’t work. She then brought back that TV, stating it was not the size indicated on the box. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
A Wendy’s employee reported Thursday that three former employees were in the restaurant and causing a disturbance. They were gone upon police arrival.
On Thursday police witnessed a vehicle being driven erratically on Sykes Street Extension. When they pulled the vehicle over it was suspected that the 52-year-old Homer City man had been consuming alcohol. He failed field sobriety testing and was transported for a legal blood draw. Charges are pending blood test results.
