BRADY TOWNSHIP – Damage caused by a rodent was to blame for a barn fire at 4:34 a.m. Thursday at the Hick’s Dairy Farm on Carson Hill Road in Brady Township, reported the state police at Ridgway.
The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal investigated the origin and cause of the fire. The fire damaged a 54-foot by 109-foot barn. The barn housed farm equipment.
The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental in nature. Damage caused by a rodent was discovered on an electrical conductor, which overheated as a result, state police said.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. Damage is estimated at $20,000, state police said.
