WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – A Brockway man, David L. Strong, was jailed Aug. 24 after assaulting a known female at a Coal Glen Road residence in Washington Township, reported the DuBois-based state police today.
Strong and the victim had engaged in a verbal argument, which escalated into a physical dispute. During the incident, he allegedly shoved the victim down on the floor and assaulted her. When the victim got back up Strong allegedly stabbed her in the back with a knife or other sharp instrument, state police said.
The victim fled from Strong and the residence on foot and then hid from him. However, he chased her and found her. At that point, the victim fled on foot again and went to a neighbor’s residence, where she yelled for help and banged on the door. She then fled to a second residence and knocked before fleeing again, state police said.
The victim, state police said, was located by emergency personnel a short distance down the road and was transported to the DuBois Regional Medical Center – West. Strong had fled the scene and was not located. He was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats and harassment.
A warrant was issued for Strong’s arrest, and he was located later Aug. 24 and taken into custody, state police said. Strong is incarcerated in the Jefferson County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.
