Police Report: Clearfield PSP

An incident of theft occurred sometime between Aug. 24 and Thursday on Wagoner Road in Pike Township. Someone stole two welding torches and two propane tanks from the victim’s business. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
An incident of aggravated assault occurred Thursday in the 60 block of Walnut Lane, Cooper Township. The victim, a Pennsylvania State Constable, was physically assaulted while attempting to serve legal paperwork on a Lanse man’s wife. The man, Rusty A. Maines, 48, was taken into custody at his residence on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Richard Ireland with his bail being set at $50,000. Maines was taken to the Clearfield County Jail, and his preliminary hearing has been set for Sept. 4.
