Detour to be lifted
CLEARFIELD – PennDOT plans to open a bridge on Route 4003 (Mine Road) near Helvetia on Friday. The bridge was closed July 26 to allow for crews from PennDOT’s Clearfield County Maintenance office to replace the structure with a new box culvert.
The new bridge will provide area travelers with a smoother, safer ride over a modern structure. Once the new bridge is open to traffic, PennDOT will lift the detour that has been in place since the start of the project.
The bridge spans Stump Creek on Route 4003, near the village of Stanley in Brady Township. The bridge carries an average of nearly 200 vehicles each day.
Drivers are reminded to obey posted speed limits, and as always, buckle up.
