PIKE TOWNSHIP – A 24-year-old Curwensville man, Shad L. Bloom, was flown from the scene of a three-vehicle accident that occurred at 3:41 p.m. Monday on the Clearfield – Curwensville Highway in Pike Township, reported the state police at Clearfield.
Diana L. McMullen, 36, and Duane E. Wriglesworth, 70, both of Curwensville, were stopped in the southbound lane, as they waited for traffic to clear for Wriglesworth to make a left-hand turn. However, Bloom failed to stop and rear-ended the McMullen vehicle. The McMullen vehicle was subsequently pushed forward and rear-ended the Wriglesworth vehicle.
Both McMullen and Wriglesworth were transported to the Clearfield Hospital for evaluation and treatment. The Bloom and McMullen vehicles sustained disabling damage, while the Wriglesworth vehicle sustained moderate damage from the accident.
Both McMullen and Wriglesworth were wearing their seat belts. Bloom was cited as a result of the accident investigation. State police were assisted by Clearfield and Curwensville emergency medical services and the Curwensville fire and police departments.
