CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of Aug. 5.
Shaw identified the fugitive as Joseph Arquillo, 42, of Cleveland, Ohio. Arquillo is wanted for failure to appear at criminal call on July 11, 2013.
On July 23, 2012, a criminal complaint was filed, charging Arquillo with theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy.
An affidavit of probable cause filed with the complaint states that on June 13, 2012, the Clearfield Borough Police Department received a report for the theft of jewelry and U.S. currency from a residence located on West Sixth Street. Upon investigation it was found that Arquillo and another individual had unlawfully removed the jewelry and U.S. currency while employed with a moving company that had been hired by the victim.
The approximate value of the stolen items was $4,175. Upon further investigation, it was found that Arquillo had exchanged several pieces of the stolen jewelry for cash at a jewelry store, the affidavit states.
On July 11, 2013, Arquillo failed to appear for criminal call and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Arquillo is described as a Caucasian male who stands 5 feet, 8 inches tall. He has brown eyes and hair.
