John Elsworth Luzier, 69 of Kerr Addition, Clearfield died Tuesday, July 8, 2013 at his residence.
Born March 19, 1944 in Clearfield, he was the son of Alfred John and Sara J (Jordon) Luzier. He was a 1962 graduate of Clearfield High School.
He was a member of the Kerr Addition Methodist Church, Clearfield Masonic Lodge #314 and the Valley of Altoona Northern Masonic Jurisdiction.
Mr. Luzier was employed as a construction contractor for Reed Brothers in Clearfield until his retirement.
On June 26, 1965, he married Marilyn (Lansberry) Luzier, who survives at home.
He is survived by a son, John E. Luzier Jr. and his wife, Rosie; five grandchildren, Eric M. Luzier and his companion, Tiffini Rogers, Aaron S. Luzier and his companion, Joe Buck, Patrick D. Luzier and his companion, Danealle Butler and Devin E. Luzier, all of Clearfield and Misty L. Beers and her companion, Keith Heichel of Fort Louden; and four great-granddaughters.
Also surviving are four brothers, William R. Luzier and his wife, Linda of Newton, KA, Thomas Luzier and his wife, Colleen and Dennis Luzier and his wife, Carol, both of West Decatur and Alfred “Dan” Luzier of Clearfield; a sister, Helen Jane Dixion and her husband, Elroy of Morrisdale; a twin sister, Nancy Gingras and her husband, Richard of Worcester, Mass.; a sister-in-law, Joelene Luzier of Clearfield and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Luzier was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; a brother, Sheridan Luzier; and a sister, Sara Ann Luzier.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. July 22 at the Kerr Addition Methodist Church, Clearfield, with the Rev. Mark Brower officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bradford Cemetery.
There will be no public visitation at Mr. Luzier’s request.
