Mary Ellen Singleton, 84, of Curwensville died Friday, June 28, 2013, in New Jersey at the home of her daughter Deborah, after a brief illness.
Born Feb. 5, 1929, she was the daughter of David and Wava (Jones) Bennett. She was employed at Superior Pet Company. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Curwensville.
On Sept. 7, 1946 in Curwensville, she wed Edward J. Singleton, who preceded her in death June 13, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Marie and Mae and a brother, James.
She is survived by a daughter, Deborah S. Edmonston and her husband, Robert of Atlantic Highlands, NJ; two grandchildren, Maggie and Robbie Edmonston of Atlantic Highlands, NJ; and sisters, Sally Summers and her husband, James of Hermitage and Adeline Dudek of Sanborn, NY.
Services for Mary Singleton will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville, with Pastor Richard Steuernagle officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received from 12 p.m. until the hour of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
