FOX TOWNSHIP – Kelly J. Shaffer, 20, of St. Marys has been charged for recent pipe bomb incidents, according to the state police at Ridgway.
Shaffer is allegedly responsible for the manufacture and placement of two, explosive devices. One was discovered in the city of St. Marys, while the other was in southern Fox Township.
In addition, Shaffer was charged with intentionally starting two brush fires in the same area(s) that the explosive devices were discovered. All of these incidents occurred during the months of April and May.
The state’s Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the Crystal and Fox Township fire departments assisted police.
