SANDY TOWNSHIP – A man was transported to the DuBois Regional Medical Center and then flown to Altoona after a single-vehicle accident Sunday on Oklahoma Salem Road near Piney Lane in Sandy Township.
According to Sandy Township police, a 19-year-old DuBois man lost control of his vehicle, which apparently exited the roadway and struck several trees. Then, it overturned onto its roof.
The man couldn’t indicate if he had any passengers, which resulted in a search of the area. A Dixon Avenue resident owned the vehicle but was not with him at the time of the accident, police said.
The man had a suspended driver’s license. It appeared that alcohol was a factor, police said.
