CLEARFIELD – “Save the Ritz” is a newly-organized committee dedicated to fundraising to save the Ritz Theater in downtown Clearfield.
The theater will be required by the film industry to purchase digital projectors at an approximate cost of $60,000 per projector. Without that equipment, the theater cannot exist.
The committee is actively seeking community support and participation in its fundraisers. Committee members are currently selling T-shirts, seat plaques and “popcorn bucket” tags, which can be purchased at the Ritz Theater.
Community members can also make direct gifts at CNB Bank to the account “Save the Ritz.”
The committee will have a booth at the Clearfield Revitalization Corp.’s Bloom and Berry Bash. The summer festival will take place from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. this Saturday in downtown Clearfield.
The committee has several other fundraisers planned and will keep its community informed in a timely fashion.
