DUBOIS – As a continued effort to educate students during senior computer workshops, DuBois Business College (DBC) has partnered with the DuBois Regional Medical Center (DRMC).
DRMC now offers a private secure online service through their Patient Portal. These services will help you and your provider’s offices correspond securely, keep your medical information up-to-date and are available 24 hours per day and seven days per week from the comfort of your home.
Kimberly Fike, Registered Nurse and Annisse Straw, Licensed Practical Nurse, both from DRMC, shared information with the workshop students that is related to the Patient Portal. All DRMC outpatient physicians will provide patients with an information sheet and (PIN) Personal Identification Number during their appointment.
To register, the patient has a 30-day window to access the portal to view their information. You can visit the DRMC Patient Portal here.
The basic computer workshop offered at DBC supports in completing this online registration. For some, the senior computer workshop is their opportunity to create an e-mail account and start connecting with their grandchildren or friends in this electronic generation. During the basic workshops, Kim and Annisse spoke about the program and steps necessary to accomplish this online option.
Once you sign-up, you will be able to:
- View your chart summary, including: medications, allergies, current problems, recent lab results, vital signs and immunization record.
This information is an asset if you are referred to any non-DRMC specialist or if you wish to share your medical information with family members. It also helps you take a collaborative approach in your health care. As a safety measure, you can print your medication list and carry it with you. This medical information may be needed in the event of an emergency.
