CLEARFIELD – Roadway milling and paving work is continuing in Centre County, with an update for the week of June 10 noted below. When work completes in October, PennDOT will have improved the roadway surface of 10 routes in Clinton and Centre counties and provided area drivers with smoother, safer travel.
Work includes roadway milling and resurfacing, line painting and miscellaneous construction. During the week of June 10, drivers can expect the following activities in Centre County:
- Shoulder back-up work will take place on Route 504 (Rattlesnake Pike) between the village of Wingate and the village of Unionville on Monday and Tuesday.
- Milling and some paving work will take place on Route 504 (Presqueisle Street/Rattlesnake Pike) Tuesday through Friday, from Philipsburg to One Mile Run Road. This work may impact residents’ ability to park on the street.
- Milling and some paving work will take place on Route 53 (Centre Street) in the borough of Philipsburg Tuesday through Friday, from Laurel Street to Weis Market. This work will impact residents’ ability to park on the street.
Drivers will encounter daylight, alternating traffic patterns, with flaggers in the roadway. Motorists need to remain alert for sudden stops and be prepared for short travel delays. Drivers should obey posted speed limits, be cautious through all work zones and be alert for construction vehicles entering and exiting work zones.
All work is weather and schedule dependent. New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co. Inc. of New Enterprise is the contractor on this $4.2 million job.
