Nellie Marie Gelnett, 89, of DuBois died Monday, June 3, 2013 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born July 23, 1923 in Grampian, she was the daughter of the late Chester W. and Myrtle W. (Spencer) Rafferty.
On Nov. 22, 1950, she was married to John Ellsworth Gelnett. He preceded her in death Oct. 29, 2009.
She was a homemaker, and in her earlier years, she had driven bus for the family business, Rafferty Bus Lines.
She is survived by a son, Marc A. Gelnett and his wife, Debbie of Cleveland, TN; a brother, Lawrence “Buck” Rafferty of DuBois; sisters, Joann Schoch of New Smryna Beach, FL and Donna J. Rafferty and Shirley Ann Rafferty, both of DuBois; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, William R. Cairns and two sisters, Loretta Connor and Lorena J. Rafferty.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park.
