TYRONE – Tyrone Hospital is holding a grand opening event for the newly constructed Tyrone Health and Wellness building that’s located on the Tyrone Hospital campus.
The building is a 12, 000-square foot medical office building constructed by Jeff Long construction. The building will become the new home for several medical offices including the Breast Cancer & Women’s Health Institute of Central Pennsylvania, Cove Surgical Associates, Heimer Eye Care Associates, Advanced Regional Center for Ankle and Foot Care and Nittany Eye Associates.
A portion of the building will house the Tyrone Fitness and Wellness Center, which is being developed through a partnership between Tyrone Hospital and ProCare Therapy and Fitness. The Health and Wellness Center is being developed as part of Tyrone Hospital’s Health and Wellness Initiative.
The grand opening event will be held from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday. The event is free and open to the public.
The grand opening event will kick-off with brief comments from local elected officials, hospital leaders and business leaders followed by a ribbon cutting in cooperation with the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce. Event participants can enjoy self-guided tours, refreshments, music by DJ Patrick Stone and giveaway items while supplies last.
Agenda for the Grand Opening Event:
- The Master of Ceremonies will be Randy Miles Sr., chairman, Tyrone Hospital Foundation Board of Directors.
- Jeff Long, owner of Jeff Long Construction will be in attendance.
- The St. Matthew’s School Choir of Tyrone will provide a musical performance.
- The invocation will be by Pastor Roy A. Steward of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Churches in Duncansville & Hollidaysburg and Barley Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Enterprise.
- The National Anthem will be performed by Sandy Steele of Tyrone Rotary Club.
Brief comments will also be given by the following dignitaries:
- Stephen Gildea – chief executive officer of Tyrone Hospital;
- Kelly Wike – president, Tyrone Hospital Board of Directors;
- Sen. John Eichelberger of the 30th district;
- Rep. Jerry Stern of the 80th legislative district;
- David Arbutina, M.D., FACS – Medical Director, Breast Cancer & Women’s Health Institute of Central Pennsylvania; and
- Michael Grimm – president & CEO of American Eagle Paper Mills.
The ribbon Cutting will be in cooperation with the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce.
Representatives from medical offices that will occupy the Tyrone Health and Wellness Center will be on hand to answer questions and provide info about their services. Those include the Breast Cancer & Women’s Health Institute, Cove Surgical Associates, Nittany Eye Associates, Advanced Regional Center for Ankle & Foot Care, Heimer Eye Care Associates and ProCare Therapy and Fitness.
Aaron Mogle, an Eagle Scout candidate, will be present and will have info regarding his project, which involves repairing and improving the walking trails located on the Tyrone Hospital campus. He’s doing his project to support Tyrone Hospital’s Health and Wellness Initiative.
