Aredas F. Lanager, 76, of Karthaus died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg. Born July 25, 1936 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Annetta Holt McGonigal.
Mrs. Lanager was a member of the Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church, Karthaus. She attended the Cooper Township High School.
She married Cyrus Raymond Lanager Jr. on July 28, 1962 at the Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church, Karthaus. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2006.
She’s survived by two daughters, Cynthia Paul and her companion, Ray Rees and Deborah A. Miller Collar and her companion, Wayne Graybill, all of Karthaus and four sons, Nelson Miller and his companion, Janet Klees of Karthaus, Raymond Lanager III and his wife, Ruth and Joseph A. Lanager and his wife, Margaret, all of Hawk Run and Robert Lanager and his wife, Cynthia of Frenchville.
Also surviving are a sister, Jean Troutman of Claymont, DE and a brother, George McGonigal of Lecontes Mills, 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Lanager, two sisters, Helen Potter and Grace Weaver and seven brothers, Ralph, Harold, Carl, Raymond, Neil, Leonard and James McGonigal.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church, Karthaus, with the Rev. Matthew Finney officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Memorial Cemetery, Karthaus.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Friday at the Strange & Weaver Funeral Home, Morrisdale, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church.
