Shirley Ann Shaffer, 79, of Tonawanda, NY, and formerly of Frenchville, died Friday, May 17, 2013 at her home.
She was born Oct. 14, 1933, a daughter of the late Charles and Ethel (Valimont) Dunlap. Mrs. Shaffer was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her family.
She was also a representative for Avon for several years. In addition, she enjoyed making various crafts out of leather and tending to her garden.
Mrs. Shaffer was a graduate of ClearfieldAreaHigh School in the class of 1951. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Frenchville.
She is survived by her husband, William Shaffer; a daughter, Kristina Marie Noworyta and her husband, Mark of Tonawanda, NY; and two grandchildren, Sarah Ann and Jeffrey William Noworyta.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Arlene Swales.
A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Frenchville with the Rev. David A. Perry Jr. as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Frenchville.
Friends will be received from4 p.m. – 8 a.m. Monday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday at the church.
