Clair J. Little, 95, of Bellefonte and formerly of Hyde died Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Centre Crest Nursing Home, Bellefonte. He was born Aug. 5, 1917 in Grassflat, the son of Paul G. and Agnes (Veihdeffer) Little.
Mr. Little retired from the state’s Department of Transportation as a truck driver. He was a member of the St Francis Catholic Church of Clearfield.
Mr. Little is survived by a daughter, Patricia A. Sankey of State College; seven grandchildren, James McKinney, John McKinney and his wife, Ann and his son, Ryan of Clearfield, Robyn Sankey of DuBois, Rebecca Hines of Chester, Dave Sankey and Mark Sankey, both of Richmond, VA and Christina Myerski of Pittsburgh; numerous great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mildred Hepburn, Bernice Blake and Edith Goodyear, all of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Little was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth A “Bid” Little, whom he married on Dec. 18, 1935 and who died Sept. 29, 2002; a brother, Walter Little; a sister, Pauline Ball; and two sons-in-law, James Mc Kinney and Essington Sankey.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield with Father Brandon Kleckner officiating. Burial will be in the CrownCrestMemorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of the services Thursday at the funeral home.
