RUSH TOWNSHIP – Two women are facing drug charges after being found unresponsive in a vehicle Thursday on the Tyrone Pike south of Dale Road in Rush Township, reported the Philipsburg-based state police.
State police responded to the scene where a Ford Explorer had stopped in the middle of the roadway. There were two women occupying the vehicle; both were unresponsive. The women were transported to the AltoonaRegionalHospital to receive medical treatment.
State police said the woman who had operated the vehicle was from Altoona/Philipsburg, and she was arrested for suspected driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Her passenger, a Clearfield woman, was arrested for drug violations.
Afterward the operator’s vehicle was transported to the Philipsburg-based state police barracks. A search warrant was obtained and turned up multiple containers with an unknown white powder, various prescription pills that’s suspected to be Lorazepam, Oxycodone and Quetiapine fumarate and various containers and numerous drug paraphernalia.
Charges will be filed through the district court, so far as the investigation of this incident and seized items and the results of blood work and drug content.
