James A. Kephart, 86, of DuBois died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the DuBois Nursing Home. He was born Nov. 4, 1926 in Clearfield, the son of Robert Daniel and Mary Vena (Lansberry) Kephart.
Mr. Kephart was Methodist by faith.
In 1990, he retired after 45 years from Harbison-Walker Refectories as the head electrician in the research center.
Mr. Kephart is survived by two daughters, Nancy Thomas and her husband, William of Mahaffey and Jamie Lemmon of Apache Junction, AZ; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers, Katherine L. “Jane” Lucore and her husband, Glaydon of Penfield, Mary T. “Pummy” Lucore and her husband, Glenn and Daniel L. Kephart and his wife, Charlene, all of Penfield, Betsy L. Kruckenberg of Clearfield and Thomas P. Kephart and his wife, Marianne of Melbourne, FL; three sister-in-laws, Evelyn Kephart of Penfield, Marcella Kephart of Ohio and Patricia Kephart of St. Marys; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dolores (McKee) Kephart, whom he married July 18, 1948 and who died Nov. 3, 1993; a granddaughter, Sarah Marie Lemmon and six brothers, Robert, Anson, W. Frederick, Donald, John C. and David L. and a stillborn brother.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, with the Rev. Dr. Joleen A. Willis officiating. Burial will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of the services Thursday at the funeral home.
