DUBOIS – The Downtown DuBois Revitalization Group is holding a special gathering on Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. in the downtown group offices located above Brady St. Florist and Planet Bike. The gathering is patterned after the popular “Coffee & Commerce” meetings held once a month on Thursday mornings. Everyone is welcome at this event. The get-together is intended to “celebrate the positive improvements in downtown DuBois in recent years and honor those who run a business, help with a special event, donate money, time or talent, create something beautiful for display or any number of things” says Julie Stewart, Program Manager. Another important component of this gathering is the presentation of the City for All Seasons award, given to a city building that shows great pride and maintenance and reflects positively on the community.
According to President Jim Papp, there has been really good progress during the last two years including 17 façade improvement projects, several interior renovation projects, seven new special events, two art and mural projects, landscape beautification, educational programs and much more.
Some attendees will include downtown businesses, residents, city, county & state officials, volunteers and committee members, media folks, donors and anyone interested in learning more about what’s happening downtown. The downtown group office is located at 109 N. Brady St. on the 2nd floor above Brady St. Florist and Planet Bike. Elevator entrance in rear of building. Call the group at 371-3064 for more information.
