Our 9 year old son was ill this over the weekend of Oct 11. I took him to the ER at the Clearfield Hospital with a fever and asthma symptoms, both were brought under control and we were sent home with instructions and medication for care at home. However after only a few hours at home I could see there was something more going on. I returned to the ER with him and after only being there a short time our son was admitted to the hospital due to asthma symptoms and a nasty viral infection. We spent two days in the hospital and during our stay we recieved care from Drs, RNs, Respitory Therapy, Radiology, Pharmacy, Lock Haven student nurses, Phlebotomy, Housekeeping, and even Maitenance.
While in the ER the nurses comforted me as well as cared for our son, Radiology was kind and patient with a frightened, ill, and nervous young boy, Phlebotomy took blood and placed IV without even a pinch, Respitory kept him breathing comfortably, therefore, me too, RNs were sweet and caring always there when we needed them, Housekeeping and the Lock Haven student nurses took the time to set up the gaming systems for his entertainment, and even Maintenance came and repaired the heat to the room.
And, of course, we can’t and never will forget the care from Dr. Sheffo during our stay and the care our son will continue to recieve from Dr Sheffo and his staff.
We have a new found respect for our local hospital, the Drs and the staff needed to make it all possible.
A sincere Thank You to all involved in the care of our son during our recent stay!!
