Joseph W. Endress, 89, of DuBois died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Christ the King Manor. Born Jan. 17, 1924 in Altoona, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rebecca (Farrell) Endress.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II.
In 1946, he married Polly K. (Findley) Endress. She preceded him in death Oct. 13, 2009.
He retired as the owner/operator of Endwood Sales in Reynoldsville. Prior to that, he worked for Ward Trucking for more than 20 years.
He was a member of the DuBois Lions and the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17. He enjoyed home remodeling and handyman work, hunting and reading.
He is survived by two sons, J. William Endress and his wife, Diane of DuBois and Thomas J. Endress of Hollywood, FL, a sister, Thelma Endress of Columbia, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Endress.
There will be no public visitation.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
