Thomas ‘Jack’ O’Dell, 85, of Clearfield died Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Altoona Regional Medical Center. He was born Feb. 11, 1928, a son of the late Harry Jasper and Beatrice (Dunlap) O’Dell.
Mr. O’Dell was employed as a die setter for McDowell Manufacturing for 26 years.
He was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, and the John Lewis Shade Post #6 American Legion, Clearfield for 12 years.
Mr. O’Dell was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Stella R. (Walushka) O’Dell of Clearfield; a daughter, Jackie Plubell and her husband, Bob of Shawville; two grandchildren, Robert A. Plubell and his wife, Ashley and Nicole Plubell; a great-grandson, Jason Plubell; two sisters and a brother, Barbara Hoover of DuBois and Mary Ann Cutler and William O’Dell, both of Clearfield.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Annie Snell, Gracie Cole, Dorothy Janie Lytle and Donna Lytle and two brothers, Andrew O’Dell and Harry O’Dell Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee Jr. and the Rev Larry Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Post Honor Guard.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
