Carol Kay Gunter, 66, of Fairview died Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at her residence. Born Jan. 5, 1947 in Sanborn, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Wava Yarger Lender.
Mrs. Gunter was a homemaker. She was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church, Morrisdale.
She was married to Barry R. Gunter on Feb. 8, 1963 in Philipsburg. He survives in Fairview.
She’s survived by three daughters, Teresa Kay Gallaher and her husband, Douglas of Clearfield, Laura M. Nearhood and her husband, Terry of Lanse, Cynthia R. Pristash and her husband, Ron of Madera and one son, Gregory Steele Gunter of Okeechobee, FL.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Rachelle Coudriet, Robert Speigle, Ryan Gallaher, Candice Waters, Suzanne Gunter, Kelly Nearhood, Breanne Nearhood, Clay Nearhood and Annika Pristash; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Delores Ralston of Sanborn, Janet Wardman of Satellite Beach, FL and Kathy Molta of Seattle, WA; and five brothers, Alton Lender of Clearfield, Albert Lee Lender of Morgan Run and Donald Lender, Gene Lender and Kenneth Lender, all of Sanborn.
In addition to her parents, she’s preceded in death by one son, Martin E. Gunter.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday at the Fairview United Methodist Church, Morrisdale, with the Pastor Tina Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview United Methodist Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale, and again from 11 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church.
