Sam F. Prosper, 62 of DuBois died Friday, April 12, 2013.Born June 9, 1950 in St. Marys, he was the son of the late Anthony and Dorothy (Raffaele) Prosper.
On Sept. 18, 1971, he married Bea (Furman) Prosper. She survives.
He worked at Ideal Products in Sykesville for many years, becoming the owner in 1999.
He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Sykesville Lions Club.
He is survived by a son, Jim Prosper and his wife, Carrie of DuBois; a daughter, Megan Prosper Shermer of Falls Creek; two brothers, John Prosper and his wife, Aloma and Tom Prosper, both of Emporium; a sister, Ann Prosper of Pittsburgh; and three grandchildren, Isaac Prosper and Lexi and Luke Shermer.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Dan Kresinski as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery.
Memorials may be placed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
