DUBOIS – On behalf of Gov. Tom Corbett, PennDOT has announced that work to improve the Route 119/322 “Blinker Parkway” intersection in Sandy Township will begin Monday. When work completes late this year, area drivers will be able to travel through a wider intersection with improved visibility and enhanced safety.
Work will include construction of turning lanes, roadway widening, slight roadway re-alignment, drainage improvements, new curbing and sidewalk, curb ramps, and traffic signal upgrades.
Depending on the work involved, drivers may encounter roadway flaggers in the work zone and temporary traffic signals. Temporary lane closures can be expected and short travel delays are possible. PennDOT reminds drivers to remain alert and proceed through the work zone with caution.
All work is weather and schedule dependent. Work is scheduled to end by early December of this year. H.R.I. Inc. of State College is the contractor on this $1.3 million project.
