DUBOIS – Spring thaw will be here soon. The Downtown DuBois Revitalization Group is organizing its 10th annual Community Spring Cleanup from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. April 20.
Registration and supply distribution will take place at the DuBois City Park, starting at 8:30 a.m. A hearty lunch donated by many area restaurants, stores and beverage distributors is provided free of charge to registered people and groups and will start at 11 a.m.
This event is registered with the state as part of the Great American Cleanup of Pennsylvania and covers multiple communities, including DuBois, Sandy Township, Falls Creek and more.
A special part of each clean-up is the DuBois fire departments, which all hose down the streets and sidewalks of downtown DuBois at 8 p.m. Friday.
This effort requires logistics on the part of the fire department and police. The public is asked to please be aware of this event Friday night.
The Downtown DuBois Revitalization Group is encouraging businesses, civic groups, churches, scout groups, student groups, individuals and all others to participate. The group provides the trash bags, gloves and orange vests.
Small projects are also encouraged as part of the cleanup. If you have a project that you need help with, please contact the group and volunteers will be arranged.
Anyone with questions regarding the cleanup is asked to call 814-371-3064 or 814-591-2570.
