Rosemary A. Hryn, 85, of Curwensville died Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born Nov. 28, 1927, a daughter of the late Richard and Mary (Quigley) McKeown.
Mrs. Hryn was a homemaker most of her life. She had also been employed at Bell Telephone, Clearfield, Cameron Manufacturing, Reynoldsville and the Airplane Marine Plant. She was also involved with the Chestnut Ridge homemakers group.
She was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, Curwensville, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, active in a Bible study group and taught catechism classes for several years.
She is survived by five children, Kirby Hryn and his wife, Cathy of Clearfield, Patrick Hryn and his wife, Sandra of Rockton, Mary Susan Hryn and Robert Hryn and his wife, Cathy, all of Curwensville and John Hryn and his wife, Cindy of Grampian; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Luella Witherow of Clearfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Hryn on Nov. 11, 2005 and whom she wed Sept. 7, 1956 in Sykesville. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Helen Gehret, Margaret Nyce, Elizabeth Heindl and Marie Allison and two brothers, James and Clair F. McKeown.
A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Timothy Catholic Church, Curwensville, with Father Mark A. Mastrian as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville.
At the funeral home Tuesday, the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. and a Christian Vigil Service will be held at 7:45 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Timothy Catholic Church Rosary and Altar Society, 306 Walnut St., Curwensville.
