TYRONE — Three Clearfield Area High School basketball players were named to All-Mountain League teams at the annual winter sports banquet in the Tyrone Area High School last week.
Junior forward Christian Lezzer was accorded honorable mention on the boys team while senior forward Breanna Peters received second-team honors and senior center Dakota Farmery was an honorable mention selection on the girls team.
The 6-0 Lezzer scored 253 points, averaging 11.5, and led the 7-15 Bison in rebounding. He scored in double figures 13 times in 22 games, topping 20 points on five occasions. His season high was 26 points in a 49-47 loss to Philipsburg-Osceola on January 15.
The 5-9 Peters, an Allegheny Division first teamer in 2012 when the then-10 teams were split up, had an outstanding season for the 6-16 Lady Bison, averaging 15.2 points and 12.2 rebounds in 20 games.
She scored 303 points, netting 20 or more four times, with a high of 28 points against Philipsburg-Osceola in the final home game of her four-year career, a 63-60 loss February 12. She hit double figures in 17 games. And she totaled 243 rebounds.
Farmery, who is 6-3, also had a double-double average at 14.6 for 262 points and 10.1 for 181 rebounds.
She capped her three-year career with 29 points at Curwensville in a 57-30 victory Feb. 14.
The Lady Bison posts soared to the top of the program’s all-time rebounding list, Peters with 765 in 85 games, a 9.0 average, and Farmery with 714 in 56 games, a 12.6 average.
Kristen Aveni, with 680 rebounds, had been the record-holder since 2004.
