CLEARFIELD – Through the Clearfield County Industrial Development Authority’s Revolving Grant Program, the Clearfield Hospital was awarded $11,000 to purchase mechanical ventilation equipment.
A mechanical ventilator (pictured) is emergency equipment that provides complete or partial ventilator support for critically ill patients who are inadequately able to breathe on their own. Clearfield Hospital has seen an increase of 20 percent in patients requiring the use of ventilation equipment since 2010.
With the given grant funds and private equity, Clearfield Hospital was able to purchase two mechanical ventilators in order to improve patient care at the hospital.
Present for the check presentation were Amy Duke, Clearfield Hospital marketing director; John O’Link, cardiopulmonary supervisor; Gary Macioce, president of Clearfield Hospital; and Rob Swales of the CCIDA.
