CLEARFIELD – A man accused of attempting burglarizing a construction site and using multiple construction vehicles waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
Remington Scott is accused of Burglary, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief and related charges.
According to court records the Clearfield Borough Police Department received a call from Continental Construction regarding a burglary that occurred at a job site on North Fourth and East Pine Streets. A utility trailer was broken into and keys and blueprints were stolen.
On March 16 two officers were at the job site when they noticed a vehicle missing. Police searched and later found it near the Salvation Army.
On March 19 police came across a street sweeping vehicle belonging to Continental Construction in the early-morning hours. Officers gave chase. The suspect got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.
On March 22 police received a call from Continental Construction. A security guard had interrupted an attempted burglar. Police followed the tracks through the snow, which eventually led them to Scott, who admitted to the crimes.
